Ga'ex, otherwise commonly reffered to as Death's Gardener or the Library-That-Walks, is the first of the two oldest gariette in existence; the second being Vitravnen. She is commonly referred to as the G-d of Death, however that is not strictly true, as the more applicable candidate for said title is The Observer; more accurately, Ga'ex represents knowledge. She is the least prominent gariette in existence and has almost never appeared outside of the Death's Garden, and as such, her appearance, personality and powers are largely based on guesswork.
Characteristics
CAs one of the zrah, Ga'ex's soul is an eternal supernova, and she wields great power. However, it is not known what she is capable of and the only known bout of creation or great use of power that can be unequivocally attributed to Ga'ex is the upkeep of the Garden of Death. It is possible she is responsible for its creation as well, but that remains unclear.
She is a dormant G-d, and thought to be the universe's reaper that oversees the stories and knowledge of those who pass into nonexistence. She is also the patron and leader of the Voidkin and the cult of the Garden, which combines and provides harbor to the cults of the voidfish, the four-jawed worms and the scalekeepers.
From paintings, photographs, and testimonies, Ga'ex's form appears to be that of a seemingly floating skull of a long extinct goat-like species, with the rest of the body covered in thick, loose, black fabric, hiding any limbs she could possibly have. Her voice is described as gentle, steady and warm, with a faint accent and echo.
Influence
Symbols
CGa'ex is associated with the symbolism of the Void, but she bears some of her own additions to it; such as the colors dark blue and gray, and the imagery of horned or antlered skulls as a symbol for one of the Garden of Death, adapted by the Voidkin who fashion their helmets to be adorned with a similar skull, making them easily and universally recognizable. Among this attire is also a long, typically segmented and worn black or gray coat, either concealing the entirety of the body and hanging limp, or swung over a shoulder. In old Arsgri, Ga'ex was strongly connected to textilework, being a G-d made up of nothing but a skull and fabric, this has however grown weaker over time.
Her symbols also include gardens and gardening tools, and a small shrine, word of devotion or wish for protection of Ga'ex is included in many libraries around Arsgri.
Worship
Direct worship to Ga'ex is often used as a 'gateway' to dedicate oneself to Raagan, as she can oftentimes function as a translator or 'forward' messages, and the symbolism and rituals between her and the Observer overlap immensely. She, as well, appears to see herself as the first devout of the Void and prefers to act more as an effigy of the Void than a separate entity.
